BUSINESS SKILLS UPGRADE FOR WOMEN N EDO STATE: ADVANCING THROUGH FUNCTIONAL UPGRADING
The training focused on the concept of functional upgrading, which involves enhancing a product’s features, performance, or capabilities to meet evolving customer needs and add value. A distinguished facilitator, an expert in building functional upgrades for products was invited to guide the participants through this transformative process.

Their facilitator emphasized that functional upgrade can take various forms, depending on the product and market. It could involve adding new feature, improving performance, utilizing advanced materials or manufacturing techniques and ultimately enhancing the overall user experience.
The importance of functional upgrading was highlighted, including its role in maintaining market relevance, differentiating products from competitors and increasing sales and revenue.
During the training, participant actively engaged with the facilitator, asking insightful questions and gaining clarity on the step-by-step process of implementing functional upgrades. Key considerations were shared to help participants identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions.

The Doers Upliftment Foundation got feedback from participants which were very positive, with many expressing newfound confidence and optimism about their futures. Building on this momentum, DUF aims to expand the program’s reach with mentorship schemes, advanced business training, and partnership with local enterprises to provide employment opportunities.

Market Outreach of DUF distributed free apron to market women. The initiative aimed to support and empower these hardworking women by providing them with practical tools to enhance their daily activities. The aprons, crafted from durable materials, not only offered protection but also symobolised the Foundation’s commitment to uplifting recognizing the vital role market women play in the community.

Hosted by the Doers Upliftment Foundation, this event is not only a recognition of excellence but also an inspiration for others to strive for greatness. As each award is presented, the audience erupts in applause, celebrating the impactful work and dedication of the honorees.
SOLAR LAMP DISTRIBUTION
DUF’s solar lamp distribution project enhances educational opportunities for students in underprivileged areas by providing reliable lighting for studying after dark. This initiative promotes education and fosters hope and empowerment in the community, aiming to create a brighter future for children, one light at a time.

DUF GIRL MENTORSHIP SESSION
As part of our commitment at DUF, the DUFGirl Initiative was invited to a Mentorship Session organized by New Benin Baptist Church, where we engaged over 100 youth. The session aimed to guide them in navigating life purpose, career choices, hands-on skills, and interpersonal development.

HA PROGRAM
The DufSkillTech Initiative birthed the The HA! program is a skill acquisition which includes digital skills, vocational skills, technical skills and fusion skills. For this Program the Digital skills which includes digital marketing, data analysis, and graphic design was a major core. It aims to empower participants, the Youth, by equipping them with essential skills for the modern workforce, thereby enhancing their employability and fostering entrepreneurial spirit.
The program offers hands-on training sessions facilitated by industry experts, ensuring that learners receive practical, real-world experience. Additionally, participants have access to a network of mentors and peers, providing support and guidance as they navigate their learning journeys. Whether you’re looking to start a new career or upgrade your existing skill set, the ha! program is designed to help you succeed in today’s digital economy.
The HA program took place at two accessible venues in Benin City: First Circular in Akpakpava, known for its vibrant city life, and Uselu, which offered a serene atmosphere for workshops. Both locations, Oredo and Egor LGA, had modern facilities to enhance participant experience, fostering community and empowerment.
Attendees of over 500 Youth shared stories, learned from each other, and built connections aimed at inspiring positive change in their communities.
The HA programme also accommodated those with physical challenges All activities and spaces were designed to be inclusive and barrier-free, available to meet diverse needs. This approach enriched the experience and highlighted the importance of welcoming everyone, regardless of physical abilities.
DISTRIBUTION OF CLOTHES
Distribution of clothes to over 200 men, women, and children was a heartwarming event that brought the community together in a spirit of generosity and support. Volunteers worked tirelessly, organizing the clothing items by size and type, ensuring that each recipient found the perfect fit. Smiles lit up faces as individuals browsed through the selection, grateful for the warmth and dignity these clothes provided. The event not only met a practical need but also fostered a sense of unity and compassion among all who participated, creating lasting bonds and spreading joy throughout the neighborhood.
